Duties & Responsibilities

The Engineering Division evaluates, designs, bids, and manages Town funded infrastructure improvement projects. Engineering staff manages consulting engineers hired to design projects outside the expertise of the division. In addition, the division provides support to other Public Works Divisions as well as any Town Department that requests technical assistance. This office maintains and updates infrastructure plans, and project files. 

The Engineering Division provides technical support to town boards including the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Zoning Board and Select Board. Oversees and inspects all subdivision/commercial development construction to ensure compliance with Town standards within areas that may be presented for acceptance and perpetual maintenance. Reviews all street openings and maintains liaison with State and County Public Works Departments on joint projects.”
